Least concern. They don’t appear to be facing any imminent threats.
HABITAT:
Alpine goats are completely domestic! They have sweeter personalities than wild mountain goats and are friendly enough to interact with the family.
DIET:
Herbivore! Goats are plant-eating animals. Their favorite food is grass and vegetation.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Alpine goats are mammals with cloven hooves, horns, beards, and large frames. Alpine goats are aesthetically pleasing and come in various distinctive colors - white, black, grey, tan, red, or brown.
QUICK FACTS:
- Alpine goats are commonly bred for milk, cheese, and other dairy products.
- Almost all male alpine goats have beards. Female goats can also have beards, but this is significantly rarer.
- Alpine goats thrive in cold, mountainous climates. If you want to keep one of these goats in a warmer area, consider upgrading the barn with air conditioning.
